About the Founder

I'm Teresa, and I started OwnWatts after watching people get priced out of, talked out of, or overlooked by the solar industry: renters, apartment dwellers, and everyday households that deserve the same benefits as anyone else.

When done right, solar is an all-around win. Lower bills, cleaner air for your family and community, resilience when the grid goes down, and eventually, free energy from the sun. I have a master's degree in Global Sustainability Science and have spent years working in tech, and I'm still amazed by how convoluted solar can be.

That's what OwnWatts is here to fix. Accessible energy means quality products at reasonable prices, with financing options so cost isn't a barrier.
