About Us
OwnWatts' north star is to make solar accessible to everyone.
We partner with nonprofits, local governments, neighborhoods, and researchers to get communities the information, support and solutions they need to create their own power on their own terms at a price they can afford.
OwnWatts connects people with the latest and greatest in plug-in solar. We offer easy, self-install solar, whether you are a renter or homeowner living an apartment, house, or other type of housing.
Our plug-in solar solutions lower your energy bills and give you clean and quiet backup power when the grid goes down.
A Note from the Founder
I started OwnWatts because energy bills are going up in the US just as the price of solar is going down. I want everyone to be able to benefit from generating free energy from the sun, not just large companies and utilities.
Plug-in solar is a no brainer. It cuts down your energy bills, is easy to install, and gives neighborhoods essential emergency power during grid outages and after natural disasters.
OwnWatts exists to give you more control over your own energy. That means safe and reliable products at reasonable prices. It means educational content and tools that help you figure out exactly what you need. And it means support for your questions and programs to get plug-in solar to underserved communities.
We're here to make solar work for you so you can take back your power.-
